                                                     Note from Dan
Hey all,

Sorry it's been so long but it has been a crazy summer and start to fall.  We had amazing camps at Bair Lake this summer and an incredible trip to Honduras not to mention some mid-summer worship stuff and a Cedar Point trip.  God is really growing our student ministry not only wider, but definitely deeper with each passing week.

As we move forward toward fall and winter, let me encourage you to take advantage of all we have to offer. We have made the move to Wednesday nights for our main youth program and have changed the name to "621."  It is taken from Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"  and have revamped the experience to be more interactive and built with a focus on student to student mentoring and team building.  We are seeing incredible spiritual growth as well as gradual numerical growth.  We started off this fall with a series called "Traders" that encouraged students to "trade" the world's ideas of success and treasure for those of the Kingdom.  We also had an AMAZING multi-youth group "Saw You At The Pole" event with 150 in attendance!

In addition, we have small groups for middle and high school every Sunday now.  Fusion, our small group for middle schoolers happens every Sunday during first and second service.  We also have Ignite, now being led by Steve Kerr, during third service just for high school students.

Space and transportation continue to be our biggest practical needs so we are very much looking forward to having, for the first time in LifeChurch history, some dedicated space upstairs for students as we move the offices across the street.  We are hoping to be in there after the first of the year!  We have also started to look into the possibility of securing some transportation.  Getting 40 students to a concert, camp or activity in cars is a challenge!

While we are concentrating on getting our main programs healthy and organized right now, we also have a lot of other activities coming up so, as always, keep an eye on www.lifestudents.org for the latest info.

Please continue to pray for our leaders, volunteers and students as we continue to pursue a real relationship with God that is growing and is reaching out to others.

Under His Grace,
Dan

                                           High School Retreat
The weekend of November 11-13 we will be leading a missions experience to downtown Chicago with Cutting Edge Ministries.  Details are still being ironed out but we will soon have more information up on our website.

This holiday season we will be challenging students in their family groups to take on the idea of doing much with little.  We will give each of our 7 family groups $30 and tell them they have 30 days to change the world with it.  It is the same concept as the parable of the talents.  In the past, i have seen students do AMAZING things with this idea!   Adults can help by finding 7 sponsors to donate $30 and commit to coming to the celebration event at the end of the 30 days!

In an effort to get to know students on a more personal level my wife Pam and I have started hosting dinners for groups of eight people a few times each semester.  Most kids come with their small groups but you can also come as a family group or just a group of friends!  To sign up got to lifestudents.org.
